PARAGON CoverPARAGON
E. F. Watkins
Amber Quill Press, www.amberquill.com, copyright 2005
ISBN: 1-59279-405-X (Electronic) $7.00
ISBN: 1-59279-779-2 (Paperback) $15.50 (from )

This is Louise Bauer’s life. A simple love story or a sinister mystic deception.

It has been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It has also been said that beauty is only skin deep. Louise is scarred from the accident that killed her beautiful mother. Not only has the world overlooked her, teased her, shunned her, but even her own father prefers her younger, prettier sister.

One act of chivalry transforms her life. She’s promised her perfect partner, her dream lover. Someone who would love her; adore her; choose her above all others. Fame and fortune will surround them. Now she will be the envy of everyone. The catch? Never, ever ask him about his past. Even one question will destroy everything.

Will Louise end up being the cat curiosity killed?

This is the premise of E. F. Watkins’ Paranormal/Suspense e-book PARAGON. What ensues is a story of legendary dimensions. Dreams becoming nightmares. Morality vs. immortality. Life with outer beauty or life with inner strength. Myth or reality. Gods or devils. Death and rebirth…for better or for worse.

PARAGON is the first e-book I couldn’t stop reading. It is an ideal length for an e-book, roughly 315 pages. The format is clear and easy to read. I was surprised to find two hours had literally flown by me. I was unable to stop. I became spellbound by the story; I couldn’t figure out where it was taking me. I’m adding E. F. Watkins to my list of authors.

An entertaining read that still lives in my mind.

Inside the Insane CoverTRIMAGON HALL
Josie A. Okuly
Novella, Chippewa Publishing LLC, December 2005
Cost: $2.85
Available Formats: Adobe [.PDF], Franklin [.FUB], Hiebook [.KML], Isilo [-IS.PDB], Microsoft [.LIT], Mobipocket [.PRC], Palm Doc [.PDB], Rocket [.RB], eBookwise-1150 [.IMP], and REB 1200/GEB 2150 [.IMP].

To be honest, the Romance genre isn’t my cup of tea. However, TRIMAGON HALL may have just changed my perspective. At 36 pages it is a no nonsense enjoyable romp.

Written in the first person, you can clearly hear Isabella Trenton’s voice (our heroine) as she unfolds her story. The tale she tells is one of madness and loss, but also of discovery. How did her cousin die? Is it the Trimagon Legacy? And what lurks in the cold dark waters far below the cliffs?

Though the characters are your romantic standards...governess, Lord of the Manor…there is enough left unsaid that I wouldn’t mind reading more about these people. This is a surprise (shock). Me? Reading more romance? Ms. Okuly you’ve just accomplished a major victory.
