PARAGON CoverBLIND JUSTICE
Blind Justice
Kelsy George
Electronic book Publication: March 2006, Cost $6.49
ISBN #1-4199-0554-6
www.cerridwenpress.com

The Preacher. Brand Hawke. Dylan Jones. Eleanor “Norrie” Benedict has her hands full with these three men. Someone loves her and someone wants to kill her…is he one and the same?

We start with Miss Eleanor “Norrie” Benedict as she ‘reads’ a murder scene. Norrie’s eyes are blind but her inner sight sees too much. She feels, relives, the victims’ terror as The Preacher kills them. Lieutenant Dylan Jones (Norrie’s friend, champion, critic, and fantasy lover) brings Norrie into the investigation to use her abilities to track down this vicious killer. Abilities Senior Detective Sergeant Brandon Hawke doubts.

Only now The Preacher is hunting Norrie. Playing with her like the proverbial cat with a mouse. Sending her messages that could only come from someone too close to the case.

As an avid reader and maniac mystery devourer, there were a few places that seemed inconsistent to what had been previously mentioned. But, nothing that took me out of the story.

Positively, BLIND JUSTICE is a riveting read. The story unfolds slowly with just the right amount of triggers. Her characters are not perfect, you will find yourself at moments cheering and wanting to strangle them…flawed just like the rest of us. Kelsy George gives nothing away, yet unveils enough for you to play armchair detective. The story’s romance is an interesting study of what real love is and what it isn’t. The psychic gift aspect of the story isn’t too hard to believe, after all how many of us have been known to finish our partner’s thoughts.

BLIND JUSTICE is a lively entertaining read.

Inside the Insane CoverRETURN TO DEVILLE’S CROSSING
Jane Toombs
Chippewa Publishing, February 2006
eBook Novella, $2.85

The terror that drove Ruth Deville from her hometown is summoning her back. Also called back is her lost love, but can he be trusted? Thirty years ago a teenage game ended in death, but memories are foggy. Someone knows and they want those involved brought back. Retribution or closure?

This was the enticing start to Jane Toombs’ novella. I’ll admit that I couldn’t stop reading; however, I ended up wishing for more. There’s an over-abundance of stories locked inside Deville’s Crossing that I wish were explored more deeply (family relations, the animal cards, those dreams).

With that said, Ms Toombs’ writing is emotionally crisp. Your enjoyment flow is consistent (broken flow is a pet peeve of mine).

RETURN TO DEVILLE'S CROSSING is a tale about secrets, lost love, heritage, and murder.
