Sam Hill has carefully built a life that seems more suited to an accountant than a car thief. He has a tidy condo, an awkward crush on a business partner and a devoted apprentice. For twenty years he’s boosted the finest classic cars of Albuquerque and never made a slip
that would allow the frustrated cops to arrest him.

The lucky streak is in danger when Sam steals a 1965 Thunderbird with
an unexpected feature; a dead body in the trunk. Sam stashes the car
and avoids the police waiting for him at the planned drop off. But
that’s just the beginning.

While Sam is resourceful enough to side step the immediate threat, he
can’t overlook that he’s been set up. He can’t let it go that
someone played him. He needs to know who set him up and why. Even
after he’s discovered who set him up and planted the evidence back on
the perpetrator, his obsession with payback has only just begun.

Steve Brewer has another winner with “Boost”. He successfully mixes
suspense and humor to create a world where the thieves are the good
guys, the cops are ineffectual to out of control and the bad guys get
what’s coming to them. “Boost” is a fast paced read that deserves a
sequel.
