NEW RELEASES!
Twilight Times Books
FMAM Yearly Anthology
We received several great mystery short stories for the FMAM anthology.
Unfortunately, the total word count for the stories that made the cut was less than the minimum needed to create a trade paperback which was the point of the project.
We will open again to submissions August 15 to September 5, 2010.
This will give you time to write and polish your stories.
Overall themes for the 2011 FMAM mystery anthology will be Americana, paranormal and a strong sense of place. You may combine one or more of the themes. Prefer stories 5k to 15k in length.
Twilight Times Books is committed to publishing a few top-notch mystery/suspense novels each year. Recent and upcoming releases include Mazurka by Aaron Paul Lazar, Murder in the Pit by Erica Miner, Shadows Over Paradise by Anne K. Edwards and Healey's Cave by Aaron Paul Lazar (August 2010, trade paperback).
Stories from Murder Past, Murder Present (November 2009, trade paperback), the AWCL anthology, were nominated as ITW short story finalists as well as submitted for the Edgar and Shamus Awards.
In addition, "A Jury of His Peers" by Jay Brandon (Murder Past, Murder
Present) will be included in Best Mysteries of 2010 edited by Lee Child (Houghton Mifflin).
Twilight Times Books is on the MWA list of approved publishers as well as the ITW list of recognized publishers.
-------------------------------
Query letters will need to be addressed to the editorial staff since Twilight Times Books will be publishing the anthology.
The above submissions information is also up at the Twilight Times Books site.

FMAM IS NOW A MYSTERY MAGAZINE! What does this mean to you?
Oh not so very much that is different. Weve always had almost all
of our stories the very finest of mysteries around with a touch of this
and that. We may still sneak in a touch of this and that if its
the greatest of this and that weve seen
HAHAHA! but, heres
what we really ARE. We want to publish the best mysteries written today,
and if that means that the story has a subplot that is horror, romance,
science fiction, or any sort of speculative fiction, even literary, well,
so be it. The main theme should be mystery, and then spice it up with
whatever you use for your spice! If you need clarification feel free to
ask! Okay? FMAM is mysterious all the way!

We've put on a slightly new 'face' too, doncha think it's sexy? I do!
our newest staff member, Art Director Ginnie Fenton, has already WOW'd
you if you've seen any of her work on FAME or in the newest issue of FMAM
(ready for mailing, so order it right NOW!)
As you'll see, Ginnie, who signs her work as GinELF, will tell you a
little about our new MYSTERY babe.
Thanks, Babs. Tales of brave, strong women have been a mainstay of mystery
fiction since the beginning of the genre. We have read lots of them in
the pages of FMAM. Now we have our own little mystery. Let's have some
fun with her.

When she arrived on my drawing pad, she had no memory of her past. Who
is she? What is her name? Is she a intriguing spy, or a bored housewife?
She speaks well, and looks very alluring. But why does she always wear
that hat? What is she hiding? No one has ever seen her face. Write to
us and let us know what you think. If you can write a really fun paragraph
or two about our mascot, we will publish it here on the website. You don't
have to be a professional writer to do this. Anyone can play.
Send your comments and ideas to artwork@fmam.biz.
If you would like to apply as an illustrator, or have created some cool
mystery or crime related cartoons for us, feel free to contact me, GinELF,
FMAM Art Director, artwork@fmam.biz.
Now, back to our Fearless Leader - Babs -
Im excited with our new and more sophisticated FMAM not
to mention the fact that we want to exude MYSTERY! HAHAHA! Shouldnt
the fire to fly and Slesar TWIST awards be right up there
with the biggest and the best a mystery writer can garner? We think so!
nd if you have not yet entered one of our TWIST contests, dont
miss out on the action! New guidelines coming soon
Have you noticed that we improve FMAM each issue? Do the same for us!
Send us your very best and together well make dreams come true!
Heres to a bounty of successful writers and artists! I tip my own
hat to each one of you! BRAVA! I hope 2005 will be ready for ALL THIS
TALENT! YAHOOO!
If you need help, DO feel free to email any of our
staff and even better join our FMAM online list. We want to have you
with us. Jump in and boss the group around, they love it! for info on
FMAM's online list go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FMAMwriters-artists Now, lets
