WINNERS - TWIST 2004

FUTURES MYSTERIOUS ANTHOLOGY MAGAZINE lost a great friend in April of 2002 when Henry Slesar, multiple Edgar winner and multiple Emmy nominee, died unexpectedly. Mr. Slesar contributed more scripts to Alfred Hitchcock's TV programs than any other writer, and was well known for the FANTASTIC TWIST endings to his stories. At FMAM Henry generously shared many of his stories with fans in a continuing feature “Good Evening”. FMAM dedicates this contest to the memory of Henry Slesar to honor a man we feel wrote the very best TWISTS, the man Hitchcock called his ‘favorite writer’, the man with a innate love and talent for the ironic! To you — Henry!

FMAM's annual “Twist” contest, now called SLESAR'S TWIST, features prizes for the best twist ending short mystery stories as characterized by the Hitchcock style of stories written by Henry Slesar. Hitchcock called Henry the 'master of the ironic'. Keep that word in mind as you write. You will find many examples of Henry's twist stories, one of the best collections is Death On Television The Best of Henry Slesar's Alfred Hitchcock Stories. Another great collection—Murders Most Macabre. We have featured one of these great stories, or more, in each of the FMAM past issues prior to Henry’s death, so read back, too. Entries must be submitted to FMAM by Oct 15, 2004.
