| Vivian Prince, Illustrator |
|
Vivian Prince was the only child of a shepherdess and a traveling
evangelist. Having severe dyslexia before anyone knew what the word
meant, she was mistakenly judged retarded. Her parents decided to
educate her themselves and took her on the road. Visiting historical
sights, museums, and numerous scientific exhibits, she was encouraged
to draw what she had learned each day. To this day she is never
without a pencil and paper. She learned to read at the age of 22
and went on to a career in photography. She also writes and edits
stories for the Candlewood Clarion (an independent newspaper) and
is working on her first novel... just for fun. Now retired and living
in California, Vivian still loves to travel with her husband John.
